The plan went kaput today when friends came over and family ordered some lovely biriyani for dinner. I was doing perfectly well till then but that soda and spicy biriyani was just too tempting. So gave in. That was Day 5.
It was so tempting to go ahead and break the plan one step further and go for an ice cream treat tonight but the awareness stopped me. Cancelled the Swiggy order. That is a big win of the day.
It is a human tendency to break boundaries. We constantly chase freedom and anything that comes in between is not appreciated by our brains. Breaking plan is common. The win is to get back on the plan. If possible get back on plan immediately.
The only work I have to do it to constantly reflect and put myself back on plan.
I got back on plan instantly and told myself I will fast for next 24 hours for breaking the plan. This is not a punishment but a consequence of the choice I took today. My family will understand that they cannot tempt me else i will fast an entire day by choice. These are ring fences to the plan. Along with me, my environment will also learn the consequences. So Kaput once is ok. Kaput twice is not.
