Here is something I have been wondering about in all my weight gain and loss projects. How does weight add or remove from our bodies? Is there a formula for it? Looks like there is one.
Have you wondered your belly fat just doesn’t go quickly? Your friends ask you, hey are you losing weight and you will be like, not much?
Here is the visceral order of weight loss
The first place you will lose weight is your face. Then you lose it in your neck. This is why with just 2 kgs of weight loss, your friends feel you have lost a lot of weight.
Following your face and neck, the next place you lose weight is your hands and shoulders. Then comes your torso not your belly though. Then comes your calf muscles and once that reduces it will start working on the thighs. Finally comes the upper portion of the stomach and at last, comes the lower portion of your belly. This process takes a sweet 8-10 months’ time.
The same is true for weight gain also. The first place it will add is the belly and the second place it adds is in the thighs so that your center of gravity is managed. Slowly it adds to the torso, your love handles, etc. Then comes your arms. Finally your face.
For your friends to figure out your weight gain it will take at least 5 months. This is why even pregnant women don’t show so much on their faces in spite of them adding weight constantly. We keep worrying about losing weight. I have had the privilege of consciously adding weight 4-5 times in my life for experiment sake(and even otherwise). I have noticed that the body takes a long time to add weight. It took my body 9 months to add 22Kgs in spite of me hogging all the time. Just that in unawareness we don’t realize the time but the body does take a lot to add weight. I thought I will be done with 20 kgs in 3 months however it took its own time. It was frustrating to add weight slowly.
That is the beauty of your human system. It protects you by calibrating at all times. It doesn’t allow anything to happen to you just like that. That is the beauty of this system. So don’t give up if your stubborn belly fat is not going away. It goes away last and slowly. The problem with weight loss is we are so impatient to get things done as quickly as possible. Your biology doesn’t work that way, my friend! It takes its own sweet time and you must be patient for your body to manifest.
