By design this is how our brains learn! Think a lot (because it is time efficient but energy inefficient). Do a little (because it is time inefficient but energy efficient). Reflect on both thinking and doing (because it is both time and energy efficient). Your bulk of learning happens here and not actually in thinking and doing.

Just the right balance.
Only doing, will get you some where but not where you might have wanted.
Only thinking will get you no where.
Reflection and meta analysis adds course correction to the whole scheme.
